Stephanie Fazio is a Culinary Nutrition Expert, cooking instructor, and freelance writer.
She has a passion for food. Real food.
Like many children of the ’80s she grew up eating a lot of processed junk food. Her favourite foods as a teenager were Doritos and penny sour candies and she could polish off a bag of deep-fried fish and chips like no body’s business.
It wasn’t until she got to university that her tastes started to change and she realized what real food is: high-quality protein, vegetables, whole grains and fewer ingredients. She was blessed to live in a residence that didn’t have a meal plan, so she made her own food and instead of gaining the Frosh 15, she lost 20 pounds almost instantly.
Fast forward several years to when her son was born: he had severe eczema on his face and Stephanie did everything she could do to figure out what was causing it. She was nursing him so she changed her diet removing soy, dairy and gluten and after a lot of trial and error, she realized he had a sensitivity to cow milk.
Stephanie learned so much about food during that process that she developed a passion for eating real food and planning meals that nourish the body.
In 2016, Stephanie completed her certification as a Culinary Nutrition Expert and she’s excited to combine it with her journalism degree from Ryerson University to educate others on the value of real food and what it can do for our bodies and our well-being.
Stephanie also has a passion for meal planning and teaches her clients how to plan nourishing meals for their families every week so they can pave the road toward feeling their best. Life is as busy as ever, but she truly believes we can still eat well on a daily basis; we just need a bit of planning to do it!
Whether it’s creating custom healthy family meal plans, or hosting a workshop or virtual cooking class, Stephanie can’t wait to work with you on your healthy food adventures.
