Aromatherapy is more popular today than it has ever been. It has been around for thousands of years all around the world as a safe, natural method of healing. Now essential oils are easily available to the public and diffusers are ever-present, diffusing pleasant aromas in clinics, salons, and homes.
What is aromatherapy? Aromatherapy uses extracted parts of plants and herbs, including essential oils for their tremendous health benefits. Healing with aromatherapy can be done through massage, baths, inhalation, creams, or compresses. Aromatherapy is commonly used for its benefits in pain management, stress management, sleep, depression, skin, and fatigue, to name a few.
Another scientifically proven use for aromatherapy is in the treatment of hair loss.In a randomized, double-blind, controlled trial published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, the use of aromatherapy was significantly more effective than traditional topical therapies for the treatment of hair loss. Almost half of the patients using essential oils showed improvements!
